The teaser rolls your spine up from lying flat, arms overhead, into a balanced V shape with your legs lifted and arms reaching toward your feet. It trains the abs through a slow, controlled curl rather than a fast sit-up. Advanced practitioners use it in Pilates flow work, as a warmup, a cooldown or recovery move, repeated for reps.

How to
- Lie on your back, legs extended, arms overhead.
- Roll up while lifting your legs to 45 degrees.
- Balance in a V shape, arms reaching toward your feet.
- Roll down slowly with your legs still lifted.
Form cues
- Exhale as you roll your spine up.
- Keep your legs pressed together throughout the roll.
- Relax your shoulders down away from your ears while you balance.
Common mistakes
- Legs sink low as you balance. Keep your legs lifted at the same height.
- Momentum yanks the upper body up. Roll up slowly using your abs, not momentum.
- The lower back arches instead of rounding. Curl your spine and draw your ribs down.
