Couch Stretch
- Pro
- Intermediate
- Mobility
The couch stretch kneels with one shin propped up a wall or bench behind you while the other foot steps forward into a lunge. Lifting your torso upright while you squeeze the rear glute deepens the quad stretch on the back leg. Intermediate lifters use it as a warmup, a cooldown or a recovery flow, held for time in mobility work.

How to
- Kneel with one shin up a wall or bench behind you.
- Step the other foot forward into a lunge.

- Hold the quad stretch, then switch legs.
Form cues
- Tuck your pelvis under to deepen the stretch.
- Feel the stretch run down the front of your thigh.
- Breathe slowly and sink deeper on each exhale.
Common mistakes

- The lower back arches to fake the range. Tuck your pelvis and keep your ribs down.
