Reverse Warrior

- Yoga
Reverse warrior builds on warrior II, unwinding the front arm up and over into a long side bend while the back leg stays grounded. It stretches the obliques and loads the front quad in a static hold. Intermediate practitioners use it in yoga, held for time as a warmup, cooldown or recovery flow.

How to
- From warrior II, keep your front knee bent.
- Flip your front palm and reach that arm overhead.
- Slide your back hand down the rear leg.
- Breathe into the side stretch, then switch sides.
Form cues
- Keep your hips facing sideways, not forward.
- Press your back foot flat into the floor.
- Reach long through your fingertips, not your shoulder.
Common mistakes
- Front knee collapses inward during the stretch. Keep the knee tracking over your middle toe.
- Body folds forward instead of side bending. Reach the arm up and back, not forward.
- Back leg softens and loses its line. Press the back leg straight and strong.
