Inchworm

The inchworm folds you forward to touch the floor, then walks your hands out to a plank and back to your feet before you stand tall again. It stretches the hamstrings while waking up the abs and front delts. Beginners use it at home for reps, fitting anywhere in a session from warmup to cooldown.

How to
- Stand tall, then fold forward and touch the floor.
- Walk your hands out to a plank position.
- Hold the plank briefly, core tight.
- Walk your hands back to your feet and stand up.
Form cues
- Keep your legs as straight as your hamstrings allow.
- Keep your hips level as your hands walk out.
- Take small steps instead of one big lunge.
Common mistakes
- Knees bend to reach the floor faster. Bend your knees only as much as needed.
- Hips pike up high during the walk-out. Keep your body in one straight line.
- Lower back sags in the plank position. Brace your core before you hold the plank.
