Burpee Broad Jump

  • Advanced
  • Hybrid race
  • Functional

The burpee broad jump follows a full burpee, chest to the floor, with an explosive broad jump for as much distance as you can cover. It trains the chest, quads and abs as one continuous, high-output movement. Advanced athletes use it in hybrid race prep or functional training, logged by distance as a main lift or a finisher.

How to

  1. Do a full burpee, chest touching the floor.
  2. Jump your feet in and stand up.
  3. Explode into a broad jump as far as you can.
  4. Land softly and go straight into the next burpee.

Form cues

  • Exhale explosively as you jump for distance.
  • Keep your arms loose to swing freely.
  • Look ahead instead of down at your feet.

Common mistakes

  • Chest skips the floor on the burpee. Touch your chest to the floor every rep.
  • Jump distance shrinks as fatigue builds. Reset your stance fully before each jump.
  • Landing is stiff-legged after the jump. Bend your knees to absorb each landing.
