Single-Leg Glute Bridge
- Intermediate
- Home
The single-leg glute bridge lifts your hips from lying on your back, one foot planted and the other leg extended toward the ceiling. It trains the glutes and hamstrings unilaterally, demanding more hip control than the two-leg version. Intermediate exercisers use it for reps at home, as a main strength move or a finisher.

How to
- Lie on your back, one foot flat, the other leg extended up.
- Press through the planted heel and lift your hips.
- Squeeze your glute at the top, hips level.
- Lower with control; finish the set, then switch legs.
Form cues
- Keep your raised leg still and in line with the other.
- Press your arms flat into the floor for stability.
- Exhale as you press your hips up.
Common mistakes
- Hips tilt toward the unsupported side. Keep your hips level and square throughout.
- Raised leg drops as the hips lift. Keep that leg still and pointed up.
- Weight shifts onto the toes instead of the heel. Keep your weight centered over your heel.
