Landmine Press
- Pro
- Intermediate
- Gym
The landmine press holds the end of a barbell at your shoulder and presses it up and slightly forward from a staggered stance. The angled path trains the front delts, chest and triceps together as a compound push. Intermediate lifters use it for weight and reps in the gym, as a main press or a finisher.

How to
- Stand holding the bar end at your shoulder, staggered stance.
- Brace your core and keep your ribs down.
- Press the bar up and slightly forward to full extension.
- Lower back to your shoulder, then switch arms as planned.
Form cues
- Keep your back foot rooted for a stable base.
- Keep your gaze forward, not down at the bar.
- Exhale forcefully as the bar leaves your shoulder.
Common mistakes
- Ribs flare and the lower back arches. Pull your ribs down and tighten your midsection first.
- Bar path goes straight up, fighting the arc. Let the bar travel forward along its arc.
- Back foot slides and the stance collapses. Root your back foot flat for a stable base.
