The kettlebell farmers carry starts by deadlifting a kettlebell in each hand up to standing, then walking a set distance with your shoulders back and core braced. Holding the load at your sides trains the forearms and traps through grip and your abs through the effort to stay upright. Beginners use it in the gym, at home or in hybrid race training, logged for distance.

How to
- Deadlift a kettlebell in each hand to standing.
- Stand tall: shoulders back, core braced, grip tight.
- Walk with quick, controlled steps.
- Keep your posture solid for the whole distance.
Form cues
- Look straight ahead instead of down at the bells.
- Keep your arms straight, not swinging with each step.
- Breathe steadily instead of holding your breath.
Common mistakes
- Torso leans toward one side under the load. Keep your ribs stacked evenly over your hips.
- Shoulders shrug up toward the ears. Pull your shoulders down and back.
- Steps shorten into a shuffle as grip fatigues. Keep taking full, even steps until you set down.
