Easy pose is a seated yoga pose held cross-legged on the floor or a cushion, spine stacked tall over your hips. Holding the position stretches the adductors and lower back without any movement. Beginners use it as a warmup, a cooldown or a recovery flow, held for time before or after training.

How to
- Sit cross-legged on the floor or a cushion.
- Stack your head over your hips, spine tall.
- Rest your hands on your knees.
- Relax your shoulders and breathe slowly.
Form cues
- Let your knees drop open and relax.
- Lengthen your spine up with each inhale.
- Keep your jaw and face soft.
Common mistakes
- Lower back rounds and shoulders slump. Sit on a cushion to tilt your hips forward.
- Shoulders creep up toward the ears. Drop your shoulders down and let them soften.
- Breathing turns shallow and quick. Slow your breath and lengthen each exhale.
