Burpee Box Jump

The burpee box jump starts with a full burpee facing a box, chest to the floor, then finishes with a jump onto the box instead of overhead. It trains the quads, chest and glutes together as one combination movement. Use it in functional training or hybrid race prep, for reps as a main lift or a finisher.

How to
- Do a full burpee facing the box, chest to the floor.
- Jump your feet in and stand up.
- Jump onto the box, landing softly with both feet.
- Step down and flow into the next rep.
Form cues
- Keep your eyes on the box throughout the jump.
- Exhale as you jump onto the box.
- Keep your chest lifted as you stand on top.
Common mistakes
- Chest never reaches the floor on the burpee. Lower your chest fully to the floor each rep.
- Feet land off balance on the box. Land with both feet flat and stable.
- Jumping back down off the box. Step down backward instead of jumping off.
