Running is a repeated bodyweight stride, landing under your hips over and over as you cover ground. It trains the quads, hamstrings and calves through that repeated impact. Beginners use it at home for cardio work or hybrid race preparation, holding a pace over a set distance rather than counting reps.

How to
- Start with an easy warm-up pace.
- Run tall with a slight forward lean and relaxed shoulders.
- Land under your hips with a quick cadence.
- Hold your target pace for the planned distance.
Form cues
- Swing your arms forward and back, not across your body.
- Keep your gaze forward, not down at your feet.
- Breathe in a steady rhythm that matches your stride.
Common mistakes
- Overstriding lands your foot far out in front. Shorten your stride so your foot lands closer to you.
- Shoulders tense up and creep toward your ears. Relax your shoulders down away from your ears.
- Cadence drops and each stride gets heavier. Quicken your steps to lighten each landing.
