- Cardio
The mountain climber alternates driving each knee to your chest from a high plank, hands under your shoulders and hips level throughout. It trains the abs, quads and front delts together as a fast, repeating pattern. Beginners use it at home or in functional training as a warmup, a main conditioning block or a finisher, logged for time.

How to
- Start in a high plank, shoulders over wrists.
- Drive one knee toward your chest.
- Switch legs quickly, hips staying level.
- Keep a fast, steady rhythm for the planned time.
Form cues
- Press through your palms to keep your back flat.
- Land each foot lightly on the ball of your foot.
- Keep your gaze just ahead of your hands, not down.
Common mistakes
- Hips pike up as fatigue sets in. Brace your core to keep hips level.
- Feet stomp the floor without control. Land softly and keep the pace steady.
- Shoulders drift forward past the wrists. Reset your hands under your shoulders often.
