Marching in place has you stand tall and lift each knee to about hip height while your arms swing in rhythm. It is a light bodyweight movement that warms up the quads and calves without any equipment. Beginners use it at home or as cardio, held for time as a warmup, a main drill or a finisher.

How to
- Stand tall and march in place.

Form cues
- Breathe steadily in rhythm with your steps.
- Land softly through the balls of your feet.
- Keep your eyes forward and chest lifted.
Common mistakes
- Knees barely lift off the floor. Drive each knee up to hip height.
- Arms hang still at your sides. Swing your arms in rhythm with your steps.
- Torso leans back as pace builds. Stay tall and keep your chest lifted.
